  • Overview


    The Department of the Army has designated the Mission Training Complex (MTC) as the vehicle for providing collective training for Army leaders, Soldiers and staffs on the art and science of Mission Command. This training supports small units (squads through companies) and medium-sized units (battalions and brigades) in training environments ranging from Stability and Support Operations (SSO) through Full Spectrum Operations (FSO). In order to function effectively in the Army’s Unified Land Operations operating environment, units and leaders must receive the best training available to enable them to successfully carry out mission-type orders. The Mission Training Complex at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) allows a fuller, immersed view of the battlefield and gives commanders at all levels better situational awareness.


    Capstone endeavors to support the JBSA MTC with a Training Support Lead to engage with collective Mission Command training, Leader Training and Development, Games for Training (GFT), and constructive simulations-supported training, as well as facilities management and access control. The MTC provides training for units and institutions in the greater San Antonio area, including the US Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Center of Excellence (School and Center), the Army Medical Command (MEDCOM, medical units, both Active and Reserve), Army Component, Northern Command (ARNORTH), Army Command, Southern Command (ARSOUTH), 24th Air Force Cyber Mission Elements, Defense Health Affairs, and the Mission Installation Contracting Command (MICC), San Antonio.


    This position is located at the Mission Training Complex, Joint Base San Antonio, TX.


    The position will be filled upon contract award.



    • Serves as Training Support Lead for the Joint Base San Antonio Mission Training Complex.
    • Plans, coordinates, schedules, and executes individual and unit collective training at echelons ranging from Squad to Corps. 
    • Assists unit leadership in planning individual and collective training that will meet their training objectives.
    • Identifies any gaps (resource, training, equipment, etc.) and works with unit leadership to ensure gaps are covered prior to execution of training. 
    • Serves in a mentor-ship or observer/controller role when requested. 
    • Gathers observations based on unit actions during training events and provide input to unit After Action Reviews (AARs).
    • Serves as the MTC Leader Development Instructor performing leader development and training; individual and collective leader training; unit leader training; lessons learned and combat leader interviews; and supporting the development of Division level operations orders.
    • Supervises two Training Support Teams

    Basic Qualifications

    Minimum education and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience with military training and training support.
    • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with training management.


    Minimum qualification:

    • Experience in operations and training requirements at brigade level or higher.
    • Completed the Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC), or Intermediate Level Education, or equivalent level military schooling.
    • Have experience in one of the following functional areas: medical, homeland defense, maneuver/fires/intel, information operations, or cyber operations.


    Minimum Clearance:

    • Current DOD Secret clearance.
