  • Overview

    Capstone Corporation is seeking a GIS Systems Analyst to support the Federal Protective Services (FPS) Incident Management Division - Watch and Briefing Support Services.  These positions are located in the Washington, DC area.


    • Collects, analyzes, and interprets geographic information provided by geodetic surveys, aerial photographs, and satellite data.
    • Researches, studies, and prepares maps and other spatial data in digital or graphic form for legal, social, political, educational, and design purposes.
    • Designs and evaluates algorithms, data structures, and user interfaces for GIS and mapping systems.
    • Maintains situational awareness of DHS related events, incidents, and threats.Maintain COP.
    • Provides GIS support to incident reporting, briefings and RFI’s.
    • Maintains the ArcGIS database, ensures data layers are updated.
    • Prepares executive-level reports and products, to include Senior Leader Briefs, IRTYQ memos, talking points, and other such documents, as directed by the SWO.
    • Produces incident reports, reporting products and briefs.
    • Maintains RFI database; tracks RFI’s, ensures RFI’s are reviewed and approved.
    • Conducts limited analysis on data in the response to RFI’s.
    • Produces, reviews, and briefs the DISAR. Distributes DISAR.
    • Ensures Blotter is received and reviewed.
    • Maintain distribution lists and telephone rosters.
    • Updates the watch turnover/pass down report.
    • Ensure SigAct Roll Up is received and reviewed.
    • Participates in the 0635 hour and 1330 hour daily NPPD Ops Calls.
    • Drafts Future Operations Report.
    • Participates in the daily 0600 hour USCP call.
    • Drafts Alert Bulletin, Flash report, and NPPD Daily Update.
    • Requests data from FPS and NPPD entities.
    • Accesses, navigates and utilizes WebRMS, EIS, HSDN, HSIN, MIST, SharePoint,
      and Major Events Dashboard.
    • Reserves, setups, and connects a VTC.

    Basic Qualifications

    Minimum education and experience:

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • Three (3) years of related experience.

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Capable of producing limited GIS imagery to support reporting products.
    • Capable of maintaining the COP.
    • Knowledge of WebRMS, EIS, HSDN, HSIN, MIST, SharePoint, and Major Events Dashboard.

    Minimum Security Clearance:

    • Active DoD Secret clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree.
