  • Overview

    Capstone Corporation is currently seeking a Database Administrator in support of  the Technical and Enterprise Support CIO/C109 Department for the Naval Sea Command (NAVSEA), located at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.

     

    This position will be filled upon contract award.

    Responsibilities

    • Conducts requirements analysis, designs, develops and administers database applications.
    • Provides operational support of computer hardware, system software, applications software, and system and user data files as configured within the associated database system.
    • Provides maintenance for the integrity of all user/system data files, data verification following system restoration/recovery procedures, and data format conversion procedures during the import and/or export of data.
    • Provides database reporting/printout support.
    • Supports development of operating procedures and user technical manuals. Support is provided to a variety of database systems (e.g., Oracle, Sybase, and/or Informix).
    • Develops and implements applications in microcomputer environment.
    • Implements relational databases.
    • Manages information and develops reports using database management system.

    Basic Qualifications

     

     

    Minimum education and years of experience:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related discipline
    • Minimum three (3) years of database administration experience; OR minimum five (5) years of database administration experience if no degree.

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • Demonstrated experience in the following areas:
      • Technical specialized experience conducting requirements analysis, designing, developing and administering database applications.
      • Providing operational support of computer hardware, system software, applications software, and system and user data files as configured within the associated database system.
      • Providing maintenance for the integrity of all user/system data files, data verification following system restoration/recovery procedures, and data format conversion procedures during the import and/or export of data.
      • Providing database reporting/printout support.
      • Supporting development of operating procedures and user technical manuals. Support is provided to a variety of database systems (e.g., Oracle, Sybase, and/or Informix).
      • Developing and implementing applications in microcomputer environment.
      • Implementation of relational databases.
      • Managing information and developing reports using database management system.
      • Working knowledge of IA/IO concepts and A&A process.
      • SharePoint 2010 and up, Microsoft Access, XML, jQuery, Java Script, HTML, and VBA.
      • Experience working with Microsoft Access 2010 and up.
      • Experience working with SharePoint 2010 and up.
      • Experience with the knowledge and proficiency to install and administer IT hardware and software including (but not limited to): Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Visual Studio.NET 2008, SharePoint, Oracle Enterprise Manager, TOAD, ColdFusion, SQL, VBS, ASP, C#, JavaScript, ADP/RDS database handlers, Apache Tomcat, MS Access, Oracle, Solaris, Symantec, HBSS, Storage Manager Server (SAN), LTO Tape Library, RedHat, Oracle server hardware, HP SAN, NetApp Storage Hardware, and Windows server hardware (Dell, HP).
    • Ability to communicate effectively with civilian, government/military personnel, and other contractors at all levels of staff and management to assure customer satisfaction.

    Certification:

     

    • 8570 requirement of IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).

     

    Clearance:

     

    • Secret clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strongly desire experience in Oracle Database Administration.
