Capstone Corporation is currently seeking Watch Analysts – Tier 2 to support a commercial customer's Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) in Crystal City, Virginia.  The Watch Analyst is part of a team providing 24/7/365 support.


These positions will be filled upon final contract award.



  • Supervises a one (1) to three (3) person watch team conducting 24/7/365 operations, ensuring 100% coverage of the GSOC.
  • Coordinates schedules of the watch team and stands the watch during scheduled and unscheduled absences of Watch Analysts.
  • Supports 24/7 situational awareness and situational understanding of activities of interest to the customer.
  • Monitors, triages, mitigates, reports, and escalates as appropriate various security or emergency-related incidents with real or potential impact to customer operations.
  • Prepares and distributes oral and written briefings.
  • Maintains and tracks status of equipment in GSOC.
  • Provides immediate response to situations requiring action or notification regarding ongoing activities or incidents.
  • Supports crisis action management in support of customer operations.
  • Screens, categorizes and distributes incoming messages.
  • Controls access into the GSOC.
  • Executes Continuity of Operations activities.
  • Prepares executive summaries and other reports as directed and required by policy and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Receives and processes information into situational awareness systems and displays.
  • Provides all-hazard warnings and notifications.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum education and years of experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience, including emergency management, law enforcement, operations center support, or related areas.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to coordinate crisis communications across a large global organization, provide reports to supervisors, and quickly diagnose crisis situations and apply critical thinking and direction to their assigned team/shift.
  • Ability to discern and make decisions within their scope with limited information.
  • Well versed in security incident response, mitigation, and recovery.
  • Ability to think outside the box and operate in a stressful and demanding operations center environment with a global focus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in crisis situations.
  • Ability to utilize computers and software to include, but not limited to, basic use of Google products and other web-based tools.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze information and make recommendations under rapidly changing conditions.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues and resolutions both written and verbally.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Skills in applying complex fact-finding, analytical, and problem solving methods and techniques.
  • Skills in written and oral communications sufficient to prepare and present findings and recommendations to senior officials.
  • Ability to work multiple actions concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Five (5) years of experience in an operations center environment.
  • Experience working with social media platforms.
