Overview

Capstone Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Fleet Readiness (OPNAV N83), the organization whose mission is to enable and sustain Ship/Submarine Readiness, Aviation Readiness and Expeditionary Readiness.  This position is located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Defines overall system and cloud architecture requirements.  Identifies, prices, scales and implements integrated platform technologies and directs other technologists in their use.
  • Ensures proper licensure and compliance, manages and projects ODC costs.  Projects, prices and schedules appropriate cloud services.  Researches and applies relevant emerging technologies.
  • Defines and implements contingency and failover plan and backup and recovery plan.
  • Defines, manages and troubleshoots development, quality assurance, customer acceptance, and production environments.  Configures and supports developer machines.  Troubleshoots and resolves n-tier platform and application issues.
  • Defines security controls, conducts security audits and overseas security testing.  Adjudicates RMF accreditation maintenance and structures associated compliance POA&Ms.
  • Demonstrates advanced capability to troubleshoot and optimize system and application performance in NMCI/milCloud operating environment.  Supports 99% contractual uptime requirement, hot fixes, and interfaces successfully with end users and service providers.

 

Basic Qualifications

Minimum education and years of experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field of study related to managing large, complex automated information system projects, such as computer science, information systems, physical science, engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline.
  • Five (5) years of related experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of intensive and progressive experience in the design, management and maintenance of personal computers, servers, application, database and webservers.

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge of configuration and management of virtual machines, LANs/WANs and VPNs, and Oracle, SQL Server database administration in an n-tiered hybrid NMCI, milCloud and commercial implementation environment.

 

Minimum security clearance:

  • Final Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner certification preferred.
