Overview

Capstone Corporation is seeking an Information Assurance (IA) Analyst to provide subject matter expertise in the day-to-day system administration function of the Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC) network monitoring and modernization effort. 

 

This position initially will be located in Norfolk, VA for 6 -12 months, then will transfer to Naples, Italy for the next 3 years.  The work schedule is the day shift, 7:00 AM (0700) - 3:30 PM (1530) Monday through Friday.

 

Position will be filled upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Provides hands-on monitoring and administration of the network modernization effort.
  • Acts as a liaison with internal stakeholders to maximize mission coordination and effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with Senior Information Assurance Analysts to maximize the effect of the analysis of network system-generated data.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership and guidance to all members of the network monitoring and modernization effort.
  • Assesses network traffic, detects data anomalies, and provides detailed reporting.
  • Provides alert handling mitigation strategies to SME III contract personnel, PM II, and NCDOC GS staff.
  • Supports the analysis of general network technical problems and provides recommendations and technical support in solving these problems.
  • Administers network monitoring systems, and provides the assessment and implementation of solutions to meet network security requirements.
  • Ensures the successful performance of vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.

 

Basic Qualifications

Minimum education and years of experience:

  • Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in information systems, information security, computer science or related discipline. Two years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience performing network administration functions within the last five (5) years, including one (1) year of experience with Navy cyber security and network operations.

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Microsoft Operating System.

 

Minimum certifications:

Any one (1) of the following DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Work Force (IAWF) / DoD 8140 Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level II certifications:

  • CAP
  • GSLC
  • CISM
  • CASP
  • CISSP (or Associate)

Minimum security clearance:

  • Final DoD Top Secret/SCI.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with surface and sub-surface network environments, UNIX and LINUX, incident handling, counter-measure deployment and security assessments.
